GORHAM, Maine – For the fourth time this season, graduate student
Bryce Lausier (Glenburn, Maine/Hampden Academy) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's basketball team has been named the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) Player of the Week.
Lausier collected his 18
th double-double of the season in the Huskies' 89-73 win over UMass Dartmouth in Little East Conference action. Competing in Southern Maine's lone contest of the week, Lausier dropped 31 points and snagged 12 rebounds against the Corsairs, finishing the game 9-for-15 from the field, including a trio of three-pointers. Lausier was also steady at the free throw line making 10-of-11 for his game-high total.
Leading the Huskies in scoring and rebounding at 22.1 points and 11.8 rebounds per game, Lausier is shooting 46.9 percent (166-for-356) from the field, and is 38.8 percent (52-for-134) from three-point range. Scoring in double figures in each of his 23 games, Lausier has 15 games with at least 20 points, including four 30-plus point performances. His season-high in scoring is 34 points, while his season-best in rebounding is 20.
Lausier is currently first in the Little East Conference with 18 double-doubles, and is second in NCAA Division III men's basketball. He is ranked first in Division III men's basketball in minutes played, defensive rebounds per game (10.65), and is in the top 10 in overall rebounds and rebounds per game.
Southern Maine closes out its regular season schedule with a pair of in-conference road games. The Huskies will face Plymouth State on the road on Wednesday, February 19 (7:00 pm) and then VTSU-Castleton on Saturday, February 22 (2:00 pm). The 2025 Little East Conference Championship Tournament begins on Tuesday, February 25.
