Beatty and Eubanks-Hemme Earn Academic All-District Honors

GORHAM, Maine – Juniors Amelia Beatty (Rochester, N.H./Spaulding) and Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team have each earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors for the 2025 season.
 
Both Beatty and Eubanks-Hemme are earning the honor after distinguishing themselves athletically and academically at the University of Southern Maine. To be eligible for the accolade, student-athletes must be a starter or an important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), must have participated in at least 90 percent, of the team's matches, or must have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches, and must be at least a sophomore academically. Graduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as both an undergrad and graduate student-athlete. Student-athletes are nominated for the honor by their institution's Athletic Communications professionals.
 
Beatty, a team captain and Nursing major, played in 104 sets over 30 matches and served as the Huskies' libero. She led the team in both digs (275) and aces (49). Beatty reached the 20-dig mark in three matches and was in double figures 13 times. She played a key role in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over New England College on September 23 with a career-high 23 digs to lead all players. Beatty set a career-high in assists with nine as part of a 3-1 win over Husson on September 6. Her career stats include 271 sets played over 84 matches, 565 digs, 118 aces, 94 assists and nine kills. This is the second Academic All-District honor of her career.
 
A transfer from Antelope Valley College, Eubanks-Hemme made an immediate impact for the Huskies by playing in every match for the Huskies this season and recording a team-leading 184 kills. She was also a key piece defensively as she ranked fourth in both digs (148) and total blocks (21). The junior recorded double-double in a 3-1 win over Thomas on October 29 with 16 kills and 20 digs and then had another one in the Huskies' next match against VTSU-Castleton on November 1 with 15 kills and 10 digs. An Exercise Science major, Eubanks-Hemme had 10 or more kills in four matches, including a season-high 19 in a five-set loss to Mount Saint Mary, and logged 10 or more digs in five matches.
 
Designated Academic All-District student-athlete honorees are eligible for selection to the Academic All-America program. College Sports Communicators began the distinguished Academic All-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored more than 38,000 deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.  Currently, CSC sponsors Academic All-America® programs for men's soccer, women's soccer, football, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis, women's tennis, baseball, softball and men's and women's track and field/cross country. Many other sports are eligible through the At-Large program, including USM sponsored sports field hockey, golf, ice hockey, and wrestling).
