Huskies Conclude Season with Senior Day Match Against Eastern Connecticut State

GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 by Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday afternoon in the team's lst game of the season. The Huskies celebrated Senior Day prior to the game and honored graduate student Alondra Lopez-Aquino (Los Angeles, Cali./St. Monica Catholic).
 
Freshmen Taylor Joyal (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North) and Lizzy Harbester (Plympton, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) each had five kills to lead the Huskies. Junior Kylee Eubanks-Hemme (Rosamond, Cali.) led the team with eight digs and also had three kills.
 
Freshman Reese Helisek (Halifax, Mass./Silver Lake Regional) recorded 14 assists to finish the season with 584, a total that ranks 13th in the program record books.
 
The Huskies end the year with a record of 8-23, the team's most wins since 2021.

Eastern Connecticut States holds a 24-3 lead in the all-time series and have won the last five matches.

  • The Warriors took the opening set 25-15 after pulling away midway through the set with an 8-1 run.
  • Eastern Connecticut went up 2-0 with a 25-9 win in the second set. The Warriors had a 10-0 run early on to take control of the set.
  • The sweep was completed with a 25-15 win by the visitors.
