GORHAM, Maine – The Salem State University Vikings defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday evening in Little East Conference women's tennis action in the Costello Sports Complex Field House in Gorham. The Vikings earned a win at No. 4 singles to break a 3-3 tie and take the match.

The Huskies won the doubles point with senior
Abby Emerson (Gorham, Maine) and sophomore
Alyssa Conley (Windham, Maine) winning 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and fifth-year senior
Hanni Johnson (Livermore, Maine/Spruce Mountain) and senior
Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine/Winthrop) winning 6-3 at No. 2 doubles. Emerson and Conley are now 5-1 on the season and 4-1 in conference play.

Emerson and Conley each won their singles match as well. Emerson defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles while Conley was a 6-2, 6-1 winner in the No. 2 slot.
