How It Happened:
- Kinaschuk gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead 11:20 into the first period after Desmarais brought the puck all the way up the ice. Sophomore transfer Dylan MacTavish (Kanata, Ontario) tied up his man along the boards to allow Desmarais to collect the loose puck.
- The Pilgrims evened the score with 3:09 left in the period when Herron broke up a pass in front of his own net and made a pass that caught the Huskies out of position. Herron found Osipik who then set up Tarkiainen with an open shot.
- Sibley gave the Pilgrims the lead on a power-play goal 7:02 into the period and the visitors went up 3-1 on a shot by Nelson that was tipped in by Herron with less than two minutes to go.
- The Huskies pulled Palmer in the final two minutes for an extra attacker but could not solve Beaulieu. The Pilgrims had two chances at an empty-netter to extend the lead but a shot by David Novotny hit the post and Osipik sent a shot wide of the net. Beaulieu made two key saves while the goalie was pulled. His second came when slide across to snag a shot by Desmarais out of the air after a rebound.
