GORHAM, Maine – Ashley Durepo has been named the head coach of the University of Southern Maine women's lacrosse team. Durepo previously led the Huskies for three seasons (2018-2020) and was named the 2019 Little East Conference Coach of the Year after guiding the Huskies to an appearance in the Little East Conference Championship Game. Angela Mallis who left the program after four seasons.
"We're very excited to have Ashley Durepo rejoin our staff as head coach of the women's lacrosse program," said Director of Athletics Al Bean. "Ashley first served the Huskies as an assistant coach under Lauren Reid before successfully leading the program as head coach from 2018-2020. Her enthusiasm is infectious and her knowledge of the game, proven leadership skills and coaching ability will quickly elevate the level of play and interest in the program. We're very pleased to have Ashley back with the program and look forward to the growth and future success of the women's lacrosse program."
Durepo led the Huskies to a record of 20-16 over three seasons in Gorham. Under her tutelage, eight Huskies earned All-Little East Conference honors, and one player was named Second Team All-Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Durepo's student-athletes also found success in the classroom with the 2018 and 2019 teams being named IWLCA Academic Honor Squads.

An experienced coach, Durepo has coached at the NCAA Division I level as head coach of Merrimack College (2021) and as an assistant at the University of New Hampshire (2012) and UMass Lowell (2013-2016). Durepo also served as an assistant coach with the Huskies during the 2010 and 2011 seasons and helped the team win the 2010 Little East Conference Championship. She also spent the 2023 season as an assistant coach with NCAA Division II Southern New Hampshire University. Most recently, Durepo was on the coaching staff at Falmouth High School in Falmouth, Maine for the 2024 season. In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Durepo brings a wealth of experience coaching at the club level with programs such as Maineiax Lacrosse Club, Granite State Elite and Seacoast United (Lighthouse) Lacrosse Club.
A standout midfielder at UNH, Durepo was an America East Conference All-Rookie Team selection as a freshman and earned Second Team All-Conference honors in her sophomore and junior seasons. She scored 90 goals and dished out 28 assists for 118 points in 72 games for the Wildcats. A three-time America East All-Academic Team honoree, she graduated from UNH in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Management.
