How It Happened: Game One – Southern Maine 8, Saint Joseph's 2
- Southern Maine went ahead early scoring twice in the top of the first, connecting on three hits including a pair of first inning doubles. Scott had an RBI double to center to score junior Abby Miner (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) who started the rally with a one-out double of her own. Levasseur scored USM's second run of the inning after drawing a walk and moving to third on Scott's double before touching home on an RBI single up the middle from senior Madi Day (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills).
- SJC trimmed its deficit to one run in the bottom of the third following an RBI single from Kryslin Stearns as part of a three-hit (all singles) inning for the Monks. However, Southern Maine responded in the top of the fourth with two more runs. Snyder led off with a walk, and moved to second on a single from senior Makena Mulcahy (Auburn, Mass.). Both Snyder and Mulcahy each moved up a base on a ground out before Levasseur laced a two-run double to center for a 4-1 Husky lead.
- The Monks struck for another run in the bottom of the fourth making it 4-2, following an RBI single from Charlotte Cloutier, but USM scored the final four runs of the game for the 8-2 final. Mulcahy, Miner and Levasseur each had an RBI in the fifth to put USM up 7-2, and Levasseur capped the game with an RBI double in the seventh for the 8-2 final.
- After giving up a run in the fourth, Snyder held SJC scoreless limiting its hitters to a single in the fifth and sixth. Snyder sat the Monks in order in the seventh to move to 5-1 on the season.
Game Two - Southern Maine 14, Saint Joseph's 0 (5 inn)
- After a scoreless first inning, Southern Maine put up a crooked number against the Monks scoring seven runs in the top of the seventh. The Huskies used four hits and a pair of SJC fielding errors to jumper on top. Graduate student Hannah Shields (Buckfield, Maine) started the rally with an RBI single to plate Day who led off the inning with a single. USM scored two runs on passed balls, and sophomore Alana Delisle (Amesbury, Mass.) had an RBI grounder to lead 5-0. With the bases empty and two outs, Levasseur drew a walk and Scott drilled a home run – her first of the season – for two runs and a 7-0 Husky lead.
- With McIntosh holding the SJC bats silent, the score remained unchanged until the top of the fourth when the Huskies added another big-run inning scoring six runs on five hits. Levasseur, Sheilds and junior Meaghan Dufresne (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and Delisle each had an RBI single in the inning, while sophomore Kristina Yebba (Danvers, Mass.) had an RBI fielder's choice for a 13-0 USM advantage.
- McIntosh remained in control and retired SJC in order in the bottom of the fourth, and the Huskies pushed their lead to 14-0 with one more run in the top of the fifth. Freshman Camdyn Johnson (West Bath, Maine/Morse) scored the Huskies final run with some heads up baserunning on a successful steal attempt from sophomore Kendall Migliorini (Salem, N.H.). Migliorini reached on a pinch-hit single, pushing Johnson to third.
- In the bottom of the fifth, McIntosh closed the door to earn the shutout getting a ground out and back-to-back strikeouts.
