How It Happened:
- Elmira scored twice in the first five minutes with goals by Reifler and Gorman. Each player assisted on the other's goal and Nathan Young also had an assist on Gorham's tally. The Huskies nearly tied the game after Reifler's goal but a shot by senior Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) hit the post.
- Drummey cut the lead in half 2-1 with a goal 2:46 into the second period. Junior John Hagan (Canton, Mass./Tilton School) won the puck along the board and fed a pass to Drummey for the latter's first collegiate goal. Hagan also had an assist in last night's game and that assist also came in the second period.
- Marini tied the game with his first goal of the season 2:37 into the third period on the power play with assists from sophomore Matt Sullivan (Hingham, Mass./New Hampton School) and Ouellette. Sullivan's initial shot was blocked and Marini jumped on the rebound and fired it into the back of the net. The goal is Southern Maine's first on the power play this season.
- Penton made 13 saves in the third period with 12 coming after Marini's goal to keep the game tied.
- Wisely scored the game-winner 41 seconds into overtime. Wisely batted down the deflected shot by Reifler and backhanded the puck into the net to end the game.
