Huskies Fall to Beavers 2-1

BABSON PARK, Mass. – Charlie Andriole scored 1:06 into the third period to lead the Babson College Beavers to a 2-1 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Friday night in New England Hockey Conference action. Brendan Kennedy gave Babson a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into the game and assisted on Andriole's goal. Sophomore Ethan MacDuff (Lloydminster, Alberta) scored his first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 in the second period before Andriole gave the Beavers the lead. Senior Mason Palmer (Cumming, Ga./Georgia Connections Academy) made 29 saves in the contest with 11 coming in the third period to keep the Huskies in the game.

How It Happened:
  • Kennedy's goal came 4:54 into the game with Nolan Woudenberg providing the assist.
  • The Huskies put eight shots on goal over the first half of the second period before MacDuff found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 with an unassisted goal with 7:23 left in the period.
  • Kennedy and McElaney had assists on Andriole's game-winner. The Huskies pulled Palmer in the final 90 seconds and had good pressure thanks to two key faceoff wins by junior Conor Donovan (Nahant, Mass./Swampscott) but could not score the equalizer.
