BABSON PARK, Mass. – An early third period goal from Tommy Rooney proved to be the difference maker for the Babson College Beavers in a 4-3 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's ice hockey team on Saturday. Rooney scored twice in the game and had an assist. Babson also had multiple-point games from Joseph Kramer and Danny Cavanagh. Kramer had a goal and an assist while Cavanagh had two assists.

How It Happened:
- Jubran gave the Huskies a 1-0 lead 1:35 into the game on the rebound of a Desmarais shot. The score held for the remainder of the period with Penton stopping 16 shots.
- Babson scored twice in less than two minutes to take a 2-1 with 10:45 left in the second period. Rooney scored the first with assists by Kramer and Cavanagh. The second goal came from Charlie Andriole with an assist by Mike Stevens.
- The Huskies tied the game shortly later with Desmarais' first goal of the season. Senior Azam Jiwa (Calgary, Alberta) recorded the assist for his first point of the year. However, it took Babson just 31 seconds to regain the lead on a Kramer goal.
- Freshman Gavin Simopoulos (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) tied the game once again with 1:57 to go in the second with sophomore Matt Sullivan (Hingham, Mass./New Hampton School) providing the assist.
- The line of Rooney, Kramer and Cavanagh provided the game-winner for the Beavers 2:18 into the third period and Rosado made 10 saves in the period to preserve the lead.

- Babson nearly doubled Southern Maine's shots on goal at 43-21.
- All seven goals were scored at even-strength. Three penalties were called in the game with the Beavers going 0-for-2 on the power play and the Huskies going 0-for-1.
- Babson led 42-31 in faceoffs.
- Each team blocked 14 shots. Fifth year senior Nick Nault (Goffstown, N.H.) and Nolan Dion each led their team with three.
