HOPKINTON, N.H. – Sophomore
Gwen Catalano (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's cross country team placed 50th and was the team's top finisher at the 2024 NCAA Division III East Regional Championship on Saturday morning. The Huskies placed 22nd in the team standings.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology placed first in the team standings and Rachel Brennan from Gordon College placed first overall.

On the Course:
- Catalano finished the 6k course in 23:47.66. Her time was fourth among Little East Conference runners.
- Junior Lucy Depolito (North Andover, Mass.) finished 118th with a time of 25:30.88.
- Junior captain AnnMarie Limberger (Vassalboro, Maine/Waterville) placed 136th with a time of 26:09.97.
- Junior Anabel Melanson (West Warren, Mass./Quaboag) ran the course in 26:33.65 to place 148th.
- Sophomore Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) finished 160th with a time of 26:58.12.
- Junior Whitney Davenport (Westbrook, Maine) placed 178th with a time of 28:17.81.
- Graduate student Eliza Bureau (Westbrook, Maine) finished 194th with a time of 29:52.04.
