GENEVA, N.Y. – Jonah Alexander tallied four points from a goal and three assists for the No. 1 Hobart College Statesmen in a 9-1 New England Hockey Conference win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Saturday afternoon at The Cooler in Geneva, N.Y. Alexander was one of eight Hobart skaters with multiple points. Matthew Perryman, Shane Shell, and Tanner Hartman each assisted on two goals. Ignat Belov potted two goals while Luke Aquaro, Artem Buzoverya, and Jared Patterson each had a goal and an assist in their stat line.

Matt Sullivan (Hingham, Mass./New Hampton School) scored the lone goal for Southern Maine, his team-leading ninth of the season. Junior goaltender
Kyle Penton (Waltham, Mass./Albany Academy) made a program-record 63 saves in the contest and his total ties for the single-game most in NCAA Division III this season.

How It Happened:
- Hobart scored twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play. Alexander netted the first with assists from Shell and Aquaro then assisted on a goal by Patterson. Shell also assisted on the second goal.
- The hosts added two more goals in the first seven minutes of the second period with Brandon Sacchetti and Buzoverya finding the back of the net.
- Sullivan ended the shutout bid 7:10 into the period with his ninth goal of the season. Sophomore Jakub Suran (Liberec, Czech Republic) and junior Mathieu Sabourin (Alexandria, Ontario) assisted on the goal.
- Hobart scored two more goals before the period came to an end thanks to Aquaro and Belov. They then added three goals in the third before Kindestin replaced Penton in net. Kindestin stopped the only shot he faced over the final 4:12 of the contest.
Inside The Stats:
- Hobart dominated the shots on goal 73-19 and led in faceoffs 50-25.
- No goals were scored on the power-play. Hobart went 0-for-3 and the Huskies blanked on their four chances.
- Penton's 63 saves are tied for the most in a game across NCAA Division III this season. Garrett Boyonoski from SUNY Morrisville made 63 in an 8-2 loss to Oswego State on November 8.
