How It Happened:
- UMass Boston got off to a dominant start with six unanswered goals before Nolan Brennan (Windham, Maine)Â and Contreras each scored in the closing minutes of the first quarter.
- The two goals gave the Huskies some life and Aman Zusner (Lyman, Maine/Massabesic) and James each scored goals to make the score 6-4 with less than 10 minutes left in the half.
- The Beacons widened the gap with four goals in less than a minute on their way to a 12-5 halftime lead. They then put the game out of reach with nine goals in the third and cruised to a 25-9 conference win.

Inside The Stats:
- 16 different players for UMass Boston recorded points with nine logging multiple and 13 Beacons netting goals.
- Jacob Banks (four goals and one assist) and Connor Smith (two goals and three assists) each had five points.
- James had three points for Southern Maine off of a goal and two assists. He now is two goals away from tying Tristan Dundas' program record of 110 career goals.
- The Beacons dominated the face offs and only lost two out of the 38. Jason McNeany went 17-of-18 on face offs, Matt Lucozzi was 15-for-16 and Jack DiFalco-Wheeler won all four face offs he took.
- UMass Boston accumulated 89 shots in the game with 59 being on goal.
- Dietz made 28 saves for the Huskies, the second-most in a game in program history behind Jeff Lamoureux's 31 against Eastern Connecticut State in 2006.
- Nussinow added six saves to give the Huskies a program record 34 saves in the game.
- Nussinow recorded his first career assists.
