GORHAM, Maine – Seven different players scored goals for the University of Southern Maine men's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon as the Huskies' offense shined in a 20-14 win over Husson University. Sophomore
Andrew James (Portland, Maine/Deering) scored six goals for the Huskies and also recorded two assists.

USM: Nathan Plourde (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills): three saves, 10 goals allowed, .231 save percentage.
Husson: Cohen Trnka: 2-1, 11 saves, 19 goals allowed, .367 save percentage.

How It Happened:
- The Huskies dominated the first quarter by scoring six goals with Andrew and senior Nick James (Portland, Maine/Deering) each scoring twice.
- Senior Omar Contreras (Portland, Maine/Deering) scored the first goal of the game and assisted on two others.
- The offensive fireworks continued in the second quarter with nine more goals with both James brothers, Contreras and senior Schuyler Wetmore (Cumberland Center, Maine/Greely) all scoring goals.
- Plourde played the second half in goal for the Huskies and held off an Eagle comeback attempt as Husson outscored the Huskies 10-5 in the second half but could not overcome the early deficit.

- Nick James and Contreras each scored four times. James recorded three assists and Contreras assisted on two goals.
- Sophomore Aman Zusner (Lyman, Maine/Massabesic) recorded two goals and two assists.
- Sophomore Tucker Nussinow (Winthrop, Maine/Kent Hills School) scored twice as well.
- Matt Boynton (two goals and two assists) and Danny Carter (three goals and an assist) each recorded four points for Husson.
- Jacob Larochelle won 19 face offs for Husson and recorded 11 ground balls. Junior Cayden Poisson-Bragdon (Lewison, Maine) and senior Xpistos Sourgiadakis (Littleton, N.H./St. Johnsbury Academy) took the majority of the face offs for Southern Maine with Poisson-Bragdon winning 14 and collecting six ground balls and Sourgiadakis going 4-for-7 on face offs.
- The Huskies scored four man-up goals in the contest.
