AUBURN, Mass. – Braeden McKinnon recorded two goals and an assist in a 5-2 win for the Anna Maria College AMCATS over the University of Southern Maine Huskies on Saturday evening at the Horgan Ice Rink in Auburn, Mass. The AMCATS scored three times in the second period to pull away from the Huskies.

Today's game was the fourth meeting between Anna Maria and Southern Maine and the AMCATS have evened the series at 2-2 with today's victory. Anna Maria won the first meeting 2-1 on November 19, 2019 while the Huskies won the previous two games heading into today including a 7-2 win last season.

How It Happened:
- Junior Mathieu Sabourin (Alexandria, Ontario) scored the first goal of the game on the power-play with sophomore Kadin Ilott (Kenora, Ontario/Beaver Brae Secondary School) assisting. Anna Maria tied the game in the final minute of the period with the first of McKinnon's two goals with help from Guillaume Coulombe and Cam Tobey.
- Penton stopped nine shots and Hennessey made 13 saves at the other end of the ice during the first period.
- McKinnon scored again to give the AMCATS the lead 4:11 into the second period with Brandon Della Paolera recording the assist.
- The Huskies had a change at goalie after Penton was penalized and ejected for spearing and was replaced by Kindestin. Anna Maria scored less than a minute later to go up 3-1 off of a goal by Coulombe.
- The Huskies trimmed the lead to 3-2 when a shot by senior Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) went wide of the net but bounced to senior Austin Marini (Hyde Park, Mass./Catholic Memorial) with a wide-open net. Senior Nolan McElhaney (Natick, Mass./Long Island University) also assisted on the goal.
- McElhaney recorded his fifth assist of the year on the goal and Ouellette recorded his eighth to tie Marini for the team lead. Marini's goal is his fifth of the season.
- Anna Maria answered with a Derek Raposo goal from McKinnon to go up 4-2.
- Della Paolera added a fifth Anna Maria goal in the final minute of the contest with an emprty-netter.
- Hennessey made 17 saves in the third period for Anna Maria.

- The AMCATS won 47-of-83 faceoffs led by Della Paolera (13-of-26), Matthew Gilbert (12-of-21) and Caleb Cathcart (10-of-15).
- McElhaney led the Huskies with eight shots on goal.

- Kindestin made a career-high 18 saves in relief with 15 coming in the third period.
