BIDDEFORD, Maine – The No. 13 University of New England Nor'easters defeated the University of Southern Maine Huskies by a score of 3-1 in a non-conference men's ice hockey game between the two local rivals. Anthony Sciucco, Jacob Pellerin and Jayden Price scored goals for UNE.

UNE: 5-2-1
Series History:
The two local rivals have now met 33 times with the Huskies holding an 20-11-1 lead in the series although the Nor'easters have won the last five meetings.
The Goaltenders:
Southern Maine:
Kyle Penton (2-2-0), 59:32, three goals allowed, 29 saves
UNE: Joe Stanizzi (2-0-0), 59:55, one goal allowed, 36 saves.
How It Happened:
- The Nor'easters struck first with a Sciucco goal 11:51 into the first period. Both goaltenders made 14 stops in the period.
- UNE added a second goal in the second period but the Huskies cut the lead in half thanks to freshman Matt Sullivan (Hingham, Mass./New Hampton School). Sullivan's goal is his third of the year.
- A shorthanded goal by Price with less than five minutes to play helped the Nor'easter put the final touch on the win.
Inside The Stats:
- Juraj Elias, Ryan Kuzmich, and Jack Murphy had assists for UNE.
- Neither team could score on the power-play as both teams went 0-for-3. UNE did however score despite being a man-down.
- Both goaltenders recorded season-high save totals.
