PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Rhode Island College Anchorwomen defeated The University of Southern Maine Huskies by a score of 9-0 on Monday afternoon in a Little East Conference match. Rhode Island College remains undefeated in conference play at 3-0 and is 6-1 overall while Southern Maine falls to 1-5 and 1-4 in the conference.

Lauren Macera and Erica Botelho defeated
Abby Emerson (Gorham, Maine) and junior
Rebecca Hamel (Windham, Maine) 8-4 in the number one doubles match. The second doubles flight saw Amiah Sommer and Amara Devine win 8-0 over senior
Maggie Brock (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) and junior
Chloe McVetty (Windham, Maine). The Anchorwomen pair of Anna Vygoder and Li hsiu Hou won 8-1 over sophomores
Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine) and
Olivia Vance (Winthrop, Maine).

Macera handed Emerson her first singles loss of the season at first singles winning 6-3, 6-3. Hamel was defeated by Botelho 7-6 (7-0), 6-1 in the number two slot while Sommer beat Brock 6-1, 6-0 in the third singles match. At number four singles Vygoder defeated McVetty 6-1, 6-0. Devine shutout Lattin 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth singles match and Hou won 6-1, 6-1 over Vance at sixth singles.

The Huskies will continue conference play on Wednesday at UMass Boston at 3:00 pm.
