GORHAM, Maine – A powerplay goal from Andrew Holland 13:31 into the third period gave the #11 ranked Babson College Beavers a 3-2 win over the Southern Maine Huskies in New England Hockey Conference play on Saturday evening.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- Penton made nine saves in the first period but the 10th shot on goal from the Beavers found its way to the back of the net with just five second left in the period. Chris Rooney redirected a Charlie Andriole shot past Penton in the final seconds of the frame.
- About halfway through the second period freshman defenseman Jakub Suran (Liberec, Czech Republic) took a pass from junior Austin Marini (Hyde Park, Mass./Catholic Memorial) and split two Beaver defenders before finding a wide-open Tanner McClure (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) for the game-tying goal. McClure's goal was his second of the season and the lone goal of the period.
- Babson retook the lead 7:48 into the third period when Mike Stevens one-timed an Andriole pass past Penton with Holland recording the secondary assist.
- After a pair of penalties gave the Huskies a 5-on-3 advantage Marini blasted the rebound of a Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) into the back of the net to tie the game at two apiece. Also assisting on the goal was senior Curtis Judd (Newton, Mass./Albany Academy).
- Babson took the lead 3-2 after Holland redirected a shot by Nolan Dion past Penton and were able to escape Gorham with a 3-2 win to avoid the upset.
- The Beavers had 35 shots on goal while the Huskies had 32. Each team blocked 10 shots.
