- Marini scored a power play goal off a Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) rebound to put the Huskies up 3-1. Desmarais and Ouellette had assists on the game-winner.
- Senior Tanner McClure (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) scored 1:16 later to make the score 4-1 with sophomore Tyler Mitchell (Burlington, ON, Canada) recording his third assist of the season.
- Davis Bone cut the lead to 4-2 in the final three minutes but a Nolan McElhaney (Natick, Mass./Long Island University) empty-netter on the power play put the game out of reach for the Wildcats. Freshman Kadin Ilott (Kenora, ON, Canada) assisted on the empty-netter.
- The win gives the Huskies a season sweep over the Wildcats. Southern Maine previously defeated the Wildcats 3-0 in Gorham on November 11 with Penton recording a shutout.
- Desmaries' two points from today gives him a total of four in the home-and-home with JWU. He scored a goal and had an assist in the earlier game.
- Ouellette, Judd, Marini and Ilott also had points in the last meeting between the teams with Ouellette scoring a goal and the other three notching assists.
