BRUNSWICK, Maine – A pair of third period power play goals helped lead Bowdoin College to a 5-4 win over the University of Southern Maine men's ice hockey team on Tuesday night.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- The Huskies struck first as junior defenseman Nick Nault (Goffstown, N.H.) scored his first career goal 3:32 into the first period. Sophomore Azam Jiwa (Calgary, AB, Canada/West Island College) was credited with the assist on the goal.
- Bowdoin answered quickly and tied the game at one apiece on a PJ Neal goal 1:25 later and added a second goal less than a minute later thanks to Chris Brown.
- Sophomore Nick Librizzi (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road) tied the game at 2-2 with a power play goal 8:33 into the period with the first goal of his career. The assist on the goal went to Nolan McElhaney (Natick, Mass./Long Island University).
- Ean Small put the Polar Bears ahead 3-2 with a goal 7:15 into the second frame.
- The Huskies tied the game at 3-3 when Jiwa was able to lift a loose puck up and over a scrum in front of the net that featured skaters for both sides piled up in front of the goal.
- Albert Washco put the home team back on top 4-3 with a power play goal just under five minutes into the third and the Polar Bears added another power play goal from Cam Berube with about six-and-a-half minutes left in the period.
- With an empty net and an extra skater on the ice senior Curtis Judd (Newton, Mass./Albany Academy) netted his 10th goal of the season to get the Huskies within a goal. Freshman Kadin Ilott (Kenora, ON, Canada) notched the assist on the goal.
- Despite the late goal the Polar Bears held on for a 5-4 non-conference win.
- Bobby Pearl and Ethan Kimball each had two assists and Brown had a goal and an assist.
- Bowdoin held a 44-19 faceoff advantage and had 37 shots on goal compared to Southern Maine's 23.
