GORHAM, Maine. – The University of Southern Maine women's tennis team was defeated by a score of 9-0 by Plymouth State University in Little East Conference play on Tuesday afternoon.
The first doubles pair of junior
Maggie Brock (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) and freshman
Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine) took an 8-1 loss as did the second doubles pairing of freshman
Madison Viveiros (Cranston, R.I./Cranston East) and senior
Audrey Richdale (Belfast, Maine). The match marked the first action of the season for Richdale.
Brock was defeated 6-1, 6-0 at first singles and at second singles Lattin dropped her match 6-1, 6-1. Viveiros played at third singles for the first time in her young career but suffered a 6-0, 6-0 loss. junior
Jordan Cote (Hope, Maine/Camden Hills) lost 6-1, 6-0 at fourth singles.
The Huskies will host Rhode Island College in the Costello Sports Complex on Saturday at noon.
