BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – On Saturday afternoon the University of Southern Maine women's tennis team took to the road to face Bridgewater State University in a Little East Conference match. The Bears defeated the Huskies 9-0 in the match to move to 2-1 in conference play while Southern Maine dropped to 0-2 in LEC action.

Maggie Brock (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) and freshman
Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine) were defeated 8-0 at first doubles. The second doubles team of sophomore
Chloe McVetty (Windham, Maine) and freshman
Madison Viveiros (Cranston, R.I./Cranston East) dropped their match 8-3.
At first singles Brock was defeated 6-2, 6-0 while Lattin played well but lost her match 6-4, 6-1. McVetty (6-2, 6-1) and Viveiros (6-3, 6-0) dropped their matches at third and fourth singles.
The Huskies will continue LEC play on Tuesday afternoon at 3PM when they host Plymouth State University in the Costello Sports Complex.
