GORHAM, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies women's tennis team was defeated by Thomas College 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon in a match played at the indoor courts at the Costello Sports Complex.
At first doubles the team of junior
Maggie Brock (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) and freshman
Muriel Lattin (Litchfield, Maine) suffered a loss to Kiara Goggin and Lauren Smith. The Terriers also took a win at second doubles and won by forfeit in third doubles.
At first singles Brock was defeated by Keira Gilman 6-0, 6-2 while Lattin took a 6-1, 6-1 loss to Goggin at second doubles. Southern Maine was also bested at third and fourth singles as sophomore
Chloe McVetty (Windham, Maine) was defeated 6-1, 6-1 by Smith and freshman
Madison Viveiros (Cranston, R.I./Cranston East) was bested 6-0, 6-0.
The Huskies will return to action in the Costello Sports Complex on Thursday for a non-conference match against Lesley University.
