- Sophomore Lauren Merrill (Bethel, Maine/Oxford Hills) turned in a solid performance in the circle going seven full and spacing out seven hits and three walks to pick up her second win of the season.

- USM responded in the bottom of the first when senior Kaitlyn Nelson (Guildhall, Vermont/White Mountains Regional) laced an RBI single scoring senior Lauren Miller (St. George, Maine/Camden Hills). Miller led off with a walk and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch.
- The score remained 1-1 through 3 ½ innings before Leidemann-Smith's first home run of the 2022 season. Husky sophomore Makena Mulcahy (Auburn, Mass.) and Miller had back-to-back one-out singles to start the inning, before Leidemann-Smith notched three RBI with the second home run of her USM career.
- Tutt had an RBI double in the fifth and freshman Abby Walsh (Epping, N.H.) added an RBI single through the left side in the sixth to bring UNE to within a single run, 4-3, headed to the top of the seventh.
- USM's Merrill picked up the first out of the seventh fielding a ground out herself. Tutt connected on her second hit of the game in the next at bat, but USM's defense caught a pinch-run attempted stolen base with a solid throw down from sophomore Jordan Cummings (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) to shortstop sophomore Maddie Day (Otisfield, Maine/Oxford Hills). Before Merrill retired the side with another infield ground out.
- Tutt and Walsh were UNE's two repeat hitters. Tutt had two RBI for the Noreasters, while Walsh had one.
