GORHAM, Maine – Ben Drummey (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) set a new school record in the pole vault as the University of Southern Maine men's track and field team finished fourth of eight teams at the Maine State Championships in Waterville on Saturday.

Recap: Clearing 5.12m on his third attempt, Drummey set a new school record in the indoor pole vault, beating the previous best of 5.10 he set in 2021. Drummey now holds the top three marks in program history.
Jacob Jackson (Auburn, Maine/Auburn) also had a big day in field events for the Huskies as he finished in the top five in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump. Jackson's best finish of the day came in the high jump where he took first with a mark of 1.85m. He placed fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump, jumping 13.05m and 6.25m, respectively.
On the track, Ethan Shain (Sanford, Maine/Sanford) took second in the 60m dash with a time of 7.03s. Keegan Cochrane (Chelsea, Maine/Schenectady) finished fifth in the 400m in 52.52s, and the 4x400 meter relay of Cochrane, Michael Geary (North Yarmouth, Maine/Greely), Cody Plumley (Limington, Maine/Bonny Eagle), and Dan Flaherty (North Andover, Mass./North Andover), took fourth in 3:38.77
