GORHAM, Maine – Five different Cadets scored as Norwich University took down the University of Southern Maine Huskies men's ice hockey team 5-1 in a New England Hockey Conference contest on Saturday afternoon in Gorham.

How It Happened/Inside the Box Score:
-Just 21 seconds into the game, Brett Ouderkirk (Monkland, Ontario/Markham Royals)intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and put a breakaway goal past Penton to give the Cadets a 1-0 lead.
-With 35 seconds left in a rather even first period, Azam Jiwa (Calgary, AB, Canada/West Island College) snuck a pass through the Norwich defense to
Zach Desmarais (St. Cyrille, QC, Canada/École secondaire de l'Odysee), who evened the score at one a piece.
-The Cadets took control of the game in the second period as Joe Nagle (Weymouth, Mass./University of New Hampshire), Patrick O'Neal (Indiana, Pa./Seahawks), and Bryan O'Mara (Syracuse, N.Y./New Jersey Rockets ) all found the back of the net to bring the score to 4-1 in Norwich's favor.
-The two teams battled fairly evenly in third period until Southern Maine pulled their goalie with just over one minute left, which allowed for Norwich to score their final goal of the game, an empty net goal.
