Cochrane, Drummey, Gebremikael, and Peterson Earn All-Conference Status

GORHAM, Maine– Keegan Cochrane (Chelsea, Maine/Schenectady), Ben Drummey (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford), Masho Gebremikael (Portland, Maine/Deering), Riley Peterson (Barnet, Vt./St. Johnsbury) and the Huskies' 4x200m relay team all earned all-conference status when the Little East Conference released its post-season conference honors on Friday, February 25.

At the LEC championship meet, Cochrane won the 600m run in a time of 1:24.97. This first place finish earned Cochrane first team all-conference honors and a spot on the all-rookie team. Gebremikael also picked up a first place finish to earn first team all-conference status. He outpaced a competitive field to win the 5,000m run in 15:56.15. This is the second individual conference title of Gebremikael's career, having won the 5,000m run at the 2019 indoor championship as well.

In the pole vault, Husky standouts Drummey and Peterson finished in first and second to pick up first team and second team all-conference honors, respectively. Drummey won the event, jumping 4.95m and currently holds the second best mark in Division III this season. Peterson cleared an impressive 4.60m on his second attempt to take second place. Drummey was also the top rookie in the event and earned all-rookie status as well.

In addition to the individual honors, the 4x200m relay team of Michael Geary (North Yarmouth, Maine/Greely), Jaequan Grant (East Granby, Conn./East Granby), Daniel Flaherty (North Andover, Mass./North Andover), and Cochrane, east second team all-conference honors after placing second in the 4x200 at the conference championship meet. The Huskies' squad finished just over a tenth of a second behind the winning team.
