GORHAM, Maine – Three third-period goals helped the Norwich University Cadets to a 5-1 victory over University of Southern Maine Huskies in New England Hockey Conference men's ice hockey action on Saturday evening. The Huskies trailed 2-1 after two periods before the Cadets pulled away with three goals in the final period to secure the victory.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- Patrick Delvecchio scored the first goal of the game 11:32 into the first period with Philip Elgstam assisting.
- Elgstam extended the lead to 2-0 in the final minute of the period with Delvecchio returning the favor with the assist along with Patrick O'Neal.
- The Huskies got on the board in the final two minutes of the second period when senior Tanner McClure (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle) buried a shot top shelf past Atherton for his first goal of the season. His goal was set up by junior Austin Marini (Hyde Park, Mass./Catholic Memorial) and senior Curtis Judd (Newton, Mass./Albany Academy).
- Marini recorded his fourth assist of the season on the play while Judd registered his team-leading sixth assist.
- The Cadets regained a two-goal lead a little over two minutes into the third period when Brady Gaudette scrapped in front of the net and muscled the puck into the net for a Norwich goal.
- Gaudette scored again, this time on the powerplay, 14:03 into the period with Elgstam and Joe Nagle assisting.
- Elgstam recorded his fourth point of the contest with a goal to make it 5-1 with O'Neal and Nagle each logging their second assists of the evening.
- Southern Maine blocked 15 shots in the game with 11 different Huskies recording a blocked shot.
- Palmer had double-digit saves in each period and made 17 stops in the third period.
