How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- In the first period Ignat Belov blasted a shot into the back of the net to put the Statesmen up 1-0.
- Penton made 15 saves in the first period for the Huskies.
- The Huskies answered with a goal by Marini less than three minutes later to tie the game. Senior Curtis Judd (Newton, Mass./Albany Academy) and junior Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) recorded assists on Marini's goal.
- Luke Aquaro scored off a rebound after an onslaught of Hobart shots to put the Statesmen up 2-1.
- Goyer stopped 11 Husky shots in the period while Penton matched his first period save total.
- The Huskies blocked 13 shots in the third period and finished with 22 in total, their highest blocked shot total since the team blocked 25 in a 5-2 win over UMass Boston on 11/19/16.
- Senior captain Nick Ritmo (Niskayuna, N.Y.) led the way with three blocked shots while six Huskies each blocked two. In total 14 different players were credited with a blocked shot for Southern Maine.
- Judd led the Huskies with five shots while Aquaro led the Statesmen with seven.
