Curtis Judd (Newton, Mass./Albany Academy) scored the lone goal for the University of Southern Maine men's ice hockey team on Friday night in a 5-1 New England Hockey Conference loss to the #11 nationally-ranked Elmira College.

How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
- Kerfalla Toure put the Soaring Eagles ahead 1-0 with less than three minutes left in the first period with Larry Niland and Nathan Young providing the assists.
- The Huskies outshot the Soaring Eagles 11-9 and won the faceoff battle 11-5 in the first period.
- In The second period Southern Maine's Nick Nault (Goffstown, NH) was sent to the penalty box for holding to give Elmira a power-play opportunity. The Huskies successfully killed the penalty with Palmer making five saves during the span.
- The Soaring Eagles got another power-play opportunity in the second and this time converted when Janis Vizbelis scored with Amedeo Mastrangeli and Bailey Krawczyk assisting.
- Young scored an unassisted goal 24 second into the third period to put the home team up 3-0 and Elmira went up 4-0 off a shorthanded goal by Chance Gorman from Graham Denomme.
- Judd put the Huskies on the board with an unassisted goal 14:48 into the third period. The goal was his first of the season.
- In the final minutes of the game Brendan Schultz scored off an assist from Jake Russo to make the final score 5-1.
- Judd led the Huskies with four shots while Gorman had five for Elmira.
- Freshman Jakub Suran (Liberec, Czech Republic) tied with Elmira's Nick Parody for the game-lead in blocked shots with four apiece.
- The Soaring Eagles won the faceoff battle 38-29 and had 10 more shots than the Huskies (42-32).
- Elmira killed two power-plays during the game.
