Judd Scores Twice in Loss to Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Senior Curtis Judd (Newton, Mass./Albany Academy) scored both Husky goals in a 6-2 New England Hockey Conference loss as Skidmore College defeated the University of Southern Maine 6-2 on Saturday evening.

The Goaltenders:  Tate Brandon: 4-2-1, 27 saves, two goals allowed; sophomore Mason Palmer (Cumming, Ga./Connections Academy): 0-3-0, 36 saves, six goals allowed;
 
How It Happened/Inside the Boxscore:
  • Palmer made 17 saves in a scoreless first period while Brandon made 11.
  • The Thoroughbreds drew first blood with an unassisted Kevin Urquhart goal 6:50 into the second period.
  • Judd tied the game at 1-1 at the 11:43 mark of the period with freshman Jakub Suran (Liberec, Czech Republic) providing the assist.
  • Skidmore answered quickly with a Jaden York goal 22 seconds later with Nick Cozzi and Matthew Monk assisting.
  • Zach Frisk put the Thoroughbreds up 3-1 just over a minute and a half later.
  • Skidmore scored three goals in the third period to extend the lead to 6-1.
  • Judd scored his second goal of the contest in the third period with Cole Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) recording his fourth assist of the season and Austin Marini (Hyde Park, Mass./Catholic Memorial) logging his second.
  • 14 different players for Skidmore recorded a point with six different players scoring goals. York (one goal and one assist) and Jacob Franczak (two assists) each had multiple points.
  • Everett Wardle went 15-1 on faceoffs for Skidmore.
