GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore pole vaulter Ben Drummey (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) was named Division III Athlete of the Week by the United State Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday, January 11. This honor marks the first time a male athlete from Southern Maine has been named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week. 

Drummey solidified himself as one of the top pole vaulters in Division III when he took third at the NCAA Championships last spring. Since then, Drummey has continued his dominance. At the USM Open II on January 8, his first meet of the season, Drummey cleared a height of 4.95m on his first attempt. This mark puts him second in Division III this season. 

On January 15, Drummey and the Huskies are back in action at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and will look to continue their strong start to the season
