PLYMOUTH, N.H– The Plymouth State Panthers swept all of the doubles and singles points in both matches of a doubleheader, taking down Southern Maine 5-0 in match one and 5-0 in match two on Thursday in Plymouth, N.H. Both matches were played to decision. With the wins, Plymouth State moves to 5-1 on the season, while Southern Maine falls to 0-7.

Match One:
Junior Ciara Richards (Caribou, Maine/Caribou) and Sophomore Riley Curtis (Brewer, Maine/Brewer) put up a strong match at first doubles against Plymouth State's Kerstin Venincasa and Jenna Sundquist, but ultimately fell 8-2. Sundquist and Venincasa are 3-1 as a pair at first doubles. At second doubles, sophomores Rachel Grome (Franklin, Mass/Franklin) and Audrey Richdale (Belfast, Maine/Belfast) lost 8-0 to Megan Marshall and Camilla Puzio. Southern Maine forfeited matches at third doubles and fifth and sixth singles, giving Plymouth State a 5-0 decision.

Match Two: 
Curtis challenged Kira Winters at second doubles, taking two points in the first set, before falling 6-2, 6-1. Richards, at first singles, and Grome, at third singles, were both shut out 6-0, 6-0 to Maggie McCarthy and Julie Miller, respectively. The Huskies forfeited matches at fifth and sixth singles, which was enough to give Plymouth State five points and a victory. 

The Huskies are back in action this Saturday, May 1 as they travel to Rhode Island College in a Little East Conference match scheduled for 1pm. Plymouth State hosts Rhode Island College Friday, April 30 at 4pm.
