PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- The Plymouth State Women's Tennis team swept the doubles points and all but one of the singles points on their way to an 8-1 win over Southern Maine on Friday in Plymouth. With the win, Plymouth State moves to 8-1 on the season (4-0 in the Little East Conference), while the Huskies fall to 0-6 (0-4 in the Little East Conference).

Emma Nassif (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) and freshman
Breanna Miclette (Thomaston, Conn./Thomaston) had the most successful doubles game for the Huskies. They managed a point off of Plymouth State's junior Megan Marshall (Dartmouth, Mass.) and sophomore Sarah Asciutto (Manchester, Vt.), before falling 8-1.Â
At second doubles, sophomores Maggie Brock (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) and Lily Madden (Kennebunk, Maine/Kennebunk) fell 8-0 to senior Julie Miller (Woburn, Mass.) and sophomore Camilla Puzio (Holden, Mass.). Junior Audrey Richdale (Belfast, Maine/Belfast) and sophomore Jordan Cote (Hope, Maine/Camden Hills Regional) also dropped their match at third doubles 8-0 to the Panthers' freshmen Tessa LaBarre (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Elena Cardoso (Hudson, Mass.).
Nassif continued her strong streak at first singles, winning her fifth consecutive match. She took down Marshall 6-1, 6-1. Her fifth singles win of the season puts her tied for third in the conference in wins at first singles in conference play at the time of this posting.Â
The Huskies' Madden, Brock, and Richdale all lost their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 to Ascuitto, Labarre, and Cardoso, respectively. At fourth singles, Miclette dropped her match 6-0, 6-1 to Miller. Freshman Tagan Vance (Kenneburnk, Maine/Kennebunk) put up a good fight at sixth singles, but ultimately fell 6-1, 6-1.Â
The Huskies are back in action Saturday, October 2 as they travel to Rhode Island College for a conference match scheduled for 1pm.
