Mind/Game: The Unquiet Journey of Chamique Holdsclaw by Rick Goldsmith. The online viewing is scheduled for Monday, November 18 at 8:00 pm.

The film is a one-hour documentary which tells the story of one superstar athlete's experience with mental illness. Holdsclaw was  a three-time NCAA Division I National Champion during her time playing for the University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team under Coach Pat Summit, and was the No. 1 draft pick in the WNBA at the end of her collegiate career. The documentary shares Holdsclaw's long-suppressed battle with mental illness and how it nearly derailed her professional career and life. Highlighting her athletic accomplishments and setbacks, Holdsclaw chose to become an outspoken mental health advocate despite the potential public stigma.Â

USM Athletics and its Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has previously partnered with various campus groups and departments to help raise awareness for Mental Health and to reduce the stigma around Mental Health Advocacy. Since 2017, USM Athletics and SAAC have hosted educational and activity-centered events around World Mental Health Day. In 2019, SAAC, along with The ROCC (Recovery Oriented Campus Center), Veterans Services, and University Health and Counseling Services hosted its
"Knockout The Stigma" basketball tournament.Â
