Feyereisen went the first seven innings giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out three.  Feyereisen did not allow a hit after the fourth inning and benefited from two double plays in the field.  Flood retired the side in order in the eighth with two strikeouts.

The Pointers pounded seven Husky hurlers for 17 hits, including seven doubles, led by juniors Cody Hanke (Marathon, Wis.) and Bobby Gregorich (Plover, Wis.) with three hits apiece.  Four other UWSP players had multiple hits, and every player in the lineup had at least one hit.

For the Huskies, senior John Carey (South Portland, Maine) accounted for the Huskies' first run with a solo home run leading off the fourth inning.  Sophomore right-hander Shyler Scates (Jefferson, Maine/Erskine Academy) took the loss after going 4.1 innings giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks.

The Pointers took a 2-0 lead with single runs against Scates in the second and fourth innings.  In the second, Hanke stroked a two-out double, moved to third on an infield error, and scored on Gregorich's single.  In the fourth, junior Taylor Carlson (Madison, Wis.) led off with a double, moved up to third on a groundout, and scored on a single by senior Harry Steldt (West Bend, Wis.).

Southern Maine tied the score with two runs in the home half of the fourth.  Carey led off with his first homer of the season.  Sophomore Sam Dexter (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) was hit by a pitch and moved to third on a single by senior Forrest Chadwick (Gardiner, Maine).  Dexter would then score on error.

UWSP took the lead for good in the fifth.  Junior Jimmy Coady (La Crosse, Wis.) reached with a one-out single.  Classmate Kyle McHugh (Polonia, Wis.) brought Coady around with a double that ended Scates' day in the hill.  Junior right-hander Andrew Richards (South Portland, Maine) relieved Scates and got the next two batters to prevent further damage.

The Pointers took command in the sixth inning sending 12 men to the plate to score six times.  Coady had a two-run double and sophomore Brandon Kranz (Waukesha, Wis.) stroked a two-run single to highlight the uprising.  Three more runs in the top of the eighth put the 10-run rule into effect.

Southern Maine will play a doubleheader on Thursday (10:30 a.m.) against Worcester State University at Henley Field in Lakeland, Fla.  UWSP will play a single game against Denison College at Lake Myrtle Park on Thursday (1:00 p.m.).
