With the win, Southern Maine improves to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the LEC.  The Colonials fall to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

         Moran defeated Western Connecticut senior Elizabeth Bonacci (Danbury, Conn.) at first singles and teamed with junior captain Tegan Talbot (Topsham, Maine/Mt. Ararat) to earn an 8-4 win at first doubles defeating Bonacci and senior Maxx Zimmer (Sandy Hook, Conn./Newton). 

         The Huskies won two out of the three doubles points and five out of the six singles points for the win.  Talbot earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at third singles, downing Colonial sophomore Alyssa Panasci (Goshen, Conn./Wamogo).

         Western Connecticut Nichole Salamacha (Winsted, Conn./Torrington) picked up a point in singles action with a 6-4, 7-5 win at sixth singles. 

         Southern Maine travels to UMass Boston on Tuesday (3:00 p.m.) for a Little East Conference match.   Western Connecticut travels to Bridgewater State on Tuesday (3:30 p.m.) for an LEC match.
