Box Score GORHAM, Maine -- The Little East Conference announced today that for the second straight week, University of Southern Maine women's lacrosse sophomore goalie Samantha Kiesel (Lakeville, Mass./Kents Hill) has been named the conference's Goalie of the Week.
Kiesel backstopped the Huskies to a 2-0 week, compiling a 5.00 goals against average and making 42 saves for an .808 save percentage. The second-year goalie stopped a career-high 25 shots in the Huskies' 13-7 victory over LEC foe Rhode Island College. She came back two days later to make 17 saves in a 14-3 win over Husson University.
Heading into the final week of the regular season, Kiesel has a 13.16 goals against average and has made 209 saves with a .550 save percentage.
Southern Maine, 6-8 overall and 3-0 in LEC play, hosts Keene State College tonight (7:00 p.m.) in a rescheduled game. USM closes the regular season traveling to Plymouth State University on Wednesday (4:00 p.m.) and hosting Eastern Connecticut State University on Saturday (1:00 p.m.).
