WATERVILLE, Maine -- The University of Southern Maine Huskies women's tennis team swept all nine matches Thursday afternoon to earn a 9-0 win over the Thomas College Terriers in a non-conference tennis match.
Earning its second consecutive win, Southern Maine improves to 4-4 overall. The loss drops the Terriers to 0-6.
Freshman Sarah Moody (Scarborough, Maine) led the Huskies from the top of their singles lineup, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lacey Leach. Moody teamed with senior Erica Robertson (St. Albans, Vt./Bellows Free Academy) to earn an 8-0 win at second doubles, downing sophomore Kayla Giroux (Anson, Maine) and Danielle Breault.
Southern Maine returns to action on Saturday (1:00 p.m.) when faces Worcester State University at the Assumption College Tennis Courts. Thomas will play at Lyndon State College on Saturday.
