Joining the Huskies' men's ice hockey program in 2022-2023, Assistant Coach Kevin Purdy has 18 years of coaching experience, with a bulk of his career spent on the sidelines of the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs hockey club.Â
Purdy has filled the roll of both assistant and head coach with the Empire, ESHL, USPHL and Tier 1 Elite hockey leagues, and several of his Monarch junior teams advanced to compete in the USA Hockey nationals, winning on title with the Empire junior team in 2007.Â
During his career, Purdy has coached and guided numerous players along the way to achieve their goal of playing college hockey with dozens having gone on to compete at the collegiate level along with some making it into the professional ranks.
Recently relocating to York, Maine with his wife Pam, Purdy holds a second degree black belt in the martial arts and can be found biking, roller blading or just hanging out on the beach during the summer months. He is beyond excited and honored to represent the University of Southern Maine.
