GORHAM, Maine – The University of Wisconsin La Crosse Eagles scored three times in the opening 10 minutes and went on to defeat the University of Southern Maine Huskies 6-0 in a non-conference women's soccer game Friday night at Hannaford Field. The Eagles are in the Also Receiving Votes category of the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Preseason poll, and are the defending Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association conference champion.

Today's game marks the second meeting between both programs and the first since 2004. Playing in Gorham, Wisconsin La Crosse earned a 2-1 win over the Huskies.
How It Happened:
- Jillian Sawadski scored the first goal at 4:05, and then Aubry Caya doubled up the Eagles' lead at 4:29. Amaya Thesing scored the first of her two goals in the game at 9:03 as UWL took a 3-0 to the halftime break.
- .Thesing opened the scoring in the second half in the 51st minute, while Gianna Zaborini and Audrey Wanless capped the scoring in the 65th and 74th respectively.
- Southern Maine finished with eight shots, four on goal. Freshmen Mia Wetzel (Oviedo, Fla.) and Kenzie Pires (Somerset, Mass./Somerset Berkley) each had three shots, with Wetzel putting two on frame.

- The Eagles had 26 shots on goal to the Huskies' four. Junior Kaylee Vasiloff (Cave Creek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) had a career-best 12 saves in 55 minutes of action. Sophomore Halle Brown (Mooresville, Ind.) made eight saves in relief.
