PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island – Sarah Pimental scored in the 65th minute to secure the lone goal of the game and lead the Rhode Island College Anchormen to a 1-0 win over the University of Southern Maine Huskies in a Little East Conference women's soccer game Friday evening at Alumni Stadium.

Today's game marked the 32nd meeting between the Rhode Island College Anchormen and the University of Southern Maine Huskies. The Huskies lead the overall series 17-13-2, but RIC has won the last two consecutively.
How It Happened:
- After an evenly played first half both teams were scoreless. The Huskies had a narrow 5-4 edge in shots, but the Anchormen had the only two on target for the half. Husky freshman goalkeeper McKenzie Vano (Trumbull, Conn.) made both saves in the first 45.
- The game was played centrally in the second half and neither team created an offensive chance until Pimentel's goal in in the 65th. Finishing the assist from Amber Almeida and Aryanna Tirado, Pimental's goal was the first shot by either team in the second half.
- After Pimental's goal, RIC had two more shots in the half, while USM had three. The Huskies were unable to find an equalizer or put one of its eight shots in the game on target.
