MANCHESTER, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's golf team placed second out of nine teams on Tuesday at the Maine Maritime Academy Mariner Invitational with a team score of 303 (+23). Junior Alex Fournier (Augusta, Maine/Cony) shot a 74 (+4) with a pair of birdies to place fifth overall. The event was won by Husson University with a team score of 288 (+8) by a 71 (+1) from medalist Juan Hernandez. The event was played at the Augusta Country Club.
 
Freshman Nick Harmon (Scarborough, Maine) finished sixth with a 75 (+5). Harmon's round included a birdie on the 16th hole. Sophomore Keenan Buteau (Scarborough, Maine) also finished in the top-10 by tying for seventh with a 76 (+6). He recorded a birdie on the fourth hole.
 
Junior Owen Moore (Pittsfield, Maine/Maine Central Institute) tied for 15th with a 78 (+8) in his first round of the season. Moore had two birdies, one on the seventh hole and one on the final hole. Sophomore Joey Samson (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little) tied for 19th with an 80 (+10). Like Moore, he ended his round with a birdie.
