CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's golf team competed at the Southern Maine Community College Invitational at the Purpoodock Club in Cape Elizabeth on Sunday afternoon before the event was suspended due to weather and darkness. As a result, the scoring was shifted to the lowest three scores for each team through the last completed hole, the 16th. Graduate student
Remy Levin (Steep Falls, Maine/Bonny Eagle) was one of two Huskies to complete her full round before the stoppage. She shot a 92 (+19) and had an 82 (+16) through 16 holes.
Senior
Belle Steeves (South Paris, Maine/Oxford Hills) also finished her round before the event was suspended. Her 18-hole score was 108 (+35) and her 16-hole score was 95 (+32). Levin ranked fifth among the competitors who completed the course, while Steeves ranked 13th. Grace Thompson from SMCC and Abby Flanagan from the University of New England tied for the lowest round after each shot an 82 (+9).
Junior
Ryley Meyer (North Sioux City, S.D./Dakota Valley) shot a 96 through 17 holes. Senior
Meaghan May (Framingham, Mass.) each shot a 102 through 16 holes, while junior
Taylor Takatsu (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner Area) shot a 104.
