BRUNSWICK, Maine – The University of Southern Maine Huskies' women's cross country team finished sixth on Saturday at the Maine State Meet at Bowdoin College. Freshman
Ava Collamore (Waldoboro, Maine/Medomak Valley) was the top performer for the Huskies with a time of 23:30.3 in the 6k.
The University of Maine placed first in the meet and had the top three runners in Evelyn Wool (21:17.3), Katelyn Macnamara (21:26.4) and Lauren Hamilton (21:33.0) Bates College placed second, while Bowdoin placed third.
Sophomore
Lana DiRusso (Freeport, Maine) and senior
Julia Szewc (Hermon, Maine) rounded out the top three performers for the Huskies. DiRusso ran a time of 24:02.9 to place 65th. Szewc clocked in with a personal-best time of 24:11.3 to place 68th.
On the Course:
- Freshman Ryley Hubert (Griswold, Conn.) placed 75th with a time of 24:31.3.
- Junior Cora Casad (Lisbon Falls, Maine/Mt. Ararat) placed 86th with a time of 25:17.0 in her first collegiate cross country race.
- Sophomore Rohen Brown (Auburn, Maine/Saint Dominic Academy) placed 97th with a time of 26:04.4.
- Sophomore Addie Beale (South Berwick, Maine/Marshwood) finished 104th with a time of 26:32.1.
- Senior Elise Schultz (Windham, Maine) placed 109th with a time of 26:47.4.
- Sophomore Aeryn Babson (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle) finished 116th with a time of 27:29.9.
- Freshman Alias Falardeau (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) had a time of 27:58.2 to place 125th.
