GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore
Ava Walsh (East Granby, Conn.) bodied in a goal in the 10
th minute for her first career goal as the University of Southern Maine Huskies defeated the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs 3-2 in a Little East Conference women's soccer game Saturday afternoon at Hannaford Field.

Today's game marks the 39
th game in the series between Southern Maine and UMass Dartmouth. Southern Maine has won the last eight consecutively over the Corsairs and leads the series 20-15-4. The Huskies defeated UMD on the road 3-0 in 2025.
How It Happened:
- Southern Maine dominated play early and outshot the Corsairs 13-4 in the first half (9-3 on goal), and broke through for its opener early when Walsh scored to the far post. Walsh's first career marker was helped on by freshman Mia Wetzel (Oviedo, Fla.) who sent in a strong service for her first collegiate assist and point.
- Junior Ani Roberts (Bangor, Maine) made it 2-0 in the 14th minutes tapping in a feed from senior Kadin Davoren (Yarmouth, Maine). Roberts' goal is her first of the season and second of her career, while Davoren earned her team-leading third assist of 2026.
- UMass Dartmouth got on the board in the 50th minute when Kiariana Williams pounced on a misplayed ball and broke through with a burst of speed before hitting a skillful shot to the far post and 2-1 game.
- Sophomore Lexi Morin (Brunswick, Maine) made it 3-1 in favor of the Huskies in the 65th minute scoring her fourth goal of the season and 10th of her career. Morin knocked in the Huskies' final goal of the game on a strong individual effort and service from freshman Charley Baillie (Severna Park, Md.). Baillie's assist is the first point of her Husky career.

Inside the Stats
- Both of Roberts' career-goals have come against the Corsairs. Roberts scored in the 45th minutes of the Huskies' 2025 game for her first career score.
- Vano earned her second win in her third career start. The Huskies' freshman goalkeeper has made 17 saves and had a 0.91 goals against average.
