SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman
Ryker Paradis (Lewiston, Maine) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's track & field team won the shot put on Saturday at the Division III New England Championships with a throw of 16.63m. His 10 points for winning the event helped the Huskies finish sixth overall with a total of 46.5 points. Seniors
Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine/Messalonskee) and
Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.) each scored eight points for the Huskies with second-place performances. D'Amico set a personal-best in the decathlon with 6042 points, while Cahill ran a time of 53.95 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles.

D'Amico set personal bests in four events during the decathlon. He placed fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.47 seconds), the 400 meters (53.38) and the 1500 meters (4:53.40) while also placing sixth in the discus with a throw of 29.79m. Senior
Christian Burke (York, Maine) placed third in the decathlon with 6039 points and won the pole vault portion of the event with a mark of 4.40m.

Kody McCranie (Bow, N.H.) and sophomore
Logan Berube (Turner, Maine/Leavitt Area) scored six points for the Huskies by placing third with a time of 42.08 seconds. The time is a season-best for Southern Maine and ranks eighth in program history. The 4x800 team of freshman
Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport), sophomore
Preston Gerry (Gray, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester), freshman
Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) and junior
Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine) also recorded points for the Huskies by placing sixth with a time 8:03.42. Their time ranks seventh in program history.

Treshaun Brown (Kittery, Maine) placed seventh in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 13.86m to earn two more points for Southern Maine.

Pashalis Pashalidis (Palo Alto, Cali.), sophomore
Elijah DiRisi (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy), McCranie and Cahill ran a season-best time of 3:24.57 to place 10th.

Tyler Bryant (South Portland, Maine) tied for 11th in the high jump with a height of 1.87m. Freshman
Jaden Ruffin (Hollis, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed 17th in the triple jump with a mark of 12.32m.

The next meet for the Huskies will be the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships on May 8-9 at Stonehill College.
