How It Happened:
- Baschnagel was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the first then stole second base. He moved over to third on a ground out by Douin before scoring on a balk.
- The Panthers scored two runs on four hits and an error in the top of the second to go up 2-1. Both runs were unearned as they came following a Husky error.
- The Huskies tied the game in their half of the second when a double by Baschnagel plated senior Hunter Brissette (Lisbon, Maine/Lisbon Falls) who had reached after getting hit by a pitch.
- Plymouth State reclaimed the lead in the top of the third 3-2 after two walks, a failed pickoff attempt and a single by Ryan Morgado. Keblinsky and Vacchiano had back-to-back doubles to start the bottom of the inning. Vacchiano later came around to score on a throwing error by the Plymouth State catcher. The Huskies added two more runs on an RBI single by Firmin and another Panther error.
- The Huskies scored five runs on three hits and an error in the fourth. Higgins drove in a run with a single and Firmin drove in a pair of runs with another single. Two runs also scored on an error by the Panthers with the bases loaded.
- A Brissette RBI single and a three-run triple by Douin extended the lead to 15-3 after five innings. Freshman Charlie Hudson (South Berwick, Maine/Marshwood) then replaced Strout on the mound and struck out two Panthers after giving up a leadoff single.
- Southern Maine's offense erupted for six runs on seven hits in the bottom of the sixth. Sophomore Drew Scialdone (Amesbury, Mass.) was hit by a pitch then scored on a triple by senior Chris Quigley (Halifax, Mass.). Quigley then scored on a passed ball. Higgins reached on a single and scored on a two-run blast by Baschnagel with two outs. Douin then walked and scored on Keblinsky's double. Vacchiano drove in Keblinsky with a single and moved to second on a hit by Scialdone. Quigly was then hit by a pitch and the inning ended on the basepaths after a hit by Higgins.
- Junior Gabe Gifford (Bradley, Maine/Old Town) closed out the game by getting a flyout and two groundouts while giving up one hit.
