Southern Maine Men’s Track & Field Places Third at Little East Outdoor Conference Championships; Brown and D’Amico Win Events

MANSFIELD, Conn. – Seniors Michael D'Amico (Belgrade Lakes, Maine/Messalonskee) and Treshaun Brown (Kittery, Maine) each won event titles on Saturday at the 2026 Little East Conference Outdoor Championships as the University of Southern Maine Huskies placed third in the team standings with 146.5 points. D'Amico placed first in the pole vault with a mark of 4.40m. Brown won the triple jump with a mark of 13.41m and placed second in the long jump at 6.46m.
 
Freshman Ryker Paradis (Lewiston, Maine) made it to the podium three times with second-place performances in the shot put and discus and a third-place placement in the javelin. He had a mark of 16.50m in the shot put, 47.27m in the discus and 52.34m in the javelin.
 
Freshman Dylan Courtney (Hampden, Maine/Hampden Academy) and the Huskies' 4x100 relay team of sophomore Reegan Buck (Portland, Maine), senior Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.), freshman Kody McCranie (Bow, N.H.) and sophomore Logan Berube also had second-place performances. Courtney cleared 4.30m to place second in the pole vault. The 4x100 team clocked the eighth-best time in program history at 42.11 seconds.
 
Senior Christian Burke (York, Maine) placed third in both the pole vault at 4.30m and the long jump at 6.41m. Senior Michael Cyr (Caribou, Maine), senior Maddox Cahill (Sunapee, N.H.) and the USM 4x800 relay team of freshman Conner Smith (Durham, Maine/Freeport), freshman Evan Schneider (Old Orchard Beach, Maine), freshman Harry Dunne (Hollis Center, Maine/Bonny Eagle) and junior Aidan Pecoraro (Westbrook, Maine) also had third-place performance.
 
Cyr placed third in the 1500 meters with a time of 15:40.39 and also placed fifth in the 10000 meters with a time of 32:49.56. Cahill finished third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.13 seconds and the 4x800 group ran a time of 8:11.91.
 
Track Event Highlights:  
  • Smith placed fourth in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:07.98.
  • D'Amico finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.75 seconds in the finals.
  • Pecoraro placed seventh in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 1:58.88.
  • Schneider placed seventh in the 1500 meters with a personal-best time of 4:14.18.
  • Freshman Ethan Cadorette (Biddeford, Maine) finished seventh in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:12.47.
  • Dunne finished 10th in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 2:00.71.
  • Freshman Camden Cyr (Kittery, Maine/Traip Academy) placed 10th in the 5000 meters with a time of 36:15.20.
 
Field Event Highlights:
  • Freshman Tyler Bryant (South Portland, Maine) placed fourth in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 50.44m. He also tied for fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.92m.
  • Freshman Jaden Ruffin (Hollis, Maine/Bonny Eagle) placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.69m.
  • Senior Jon Dalessandro (Westbrook, Maine) placed fourth in the pole vault with a season-best mark of 4.15m.
  • Freshman Camden Brown (Veazie, Maine/Orono) cleared 4.00m to place fifth in the pole vault.
  • Berube placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 45.43m.
  • Sophomore Matt Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) set a personal-best in the javelin with a throw of 45.38m to place eighth.
  • Burke placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.87m. D'Amico finished 11th at 1.82m.
  • Sophomore Trevor Amos (New Gloucester, Maine/Gray-New Gloucester) placed 11th in both the shot put (13.05m) and discus (39.36m). He also placed 13th in the hammer with a throw of 42.02m.

The next meet for the Huskies will be the DIII New England Championships on May 1-2 at Springfield College.
