GORHAM, Maine – Junior Owen Drummey (Falmouth, Maine) recorded the first singles win of his career with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles to clinch a 4-3 win for the University of Southern Maine Huskies on the Vermont State University Castleton Spartans on Monday afternoon in Little East Conference men's tennis action. Freshman Bowdoin Allen (Mount Desert, Maine/Mount Desert Island) also earned his first singles win with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 1 spot. Junior Kayde Kinaschuk (Calgary, Alberta) also won his No. 5 singles match 6-1, 6-0 for his team-leading fourth singles win of the season.
 
The Huskies earned the doubles points by taking all three matches. The No. 1 pair of Allen and sophomore Charlie Bitar (Perry, Maine/Calais) took down their opponents 6-1. Senior Landon Weaver (Bowdoinham, Maine/Mt. Ararat) and freshman Aiden Urbahn (Freeport, Maine/International School of Sosua) earned a 6-2 win at No. 2 Doubles. The No. 3 duo of Kinaschuk and Drummey also won their match 6-2.
